Finally Colder Weather and I Shopped at the Bass Outlet!

Hi Friends! It's been awhile but honestly, the reason I haven't posted is I was feeling so uninspired and it's been super hot here in lower Alabama, we finally got our first snap literally like a week ago. It comes and goes here, one day it feels like summer, the next feels like we're in Alaska and super confused about what to wear because by noon it will most likely be 80 degrees again. So...when we got our first little cold snap I made hubby take a quick photo shoot before we picked up our Christmas tree. I'm wearing a white puffer vest and gingham shirt from Bass Outlet which is funny to me because I never shop there so it's refreshing. My husband shops there maybe once a year when he needs new jeans (and gets them on super sale) so I went in with him a few weeks ago and wandered into the women's section and saw this vest and knew I had to try it on (even though I knew I wouldn't wear it much). I loved the fit of it, very flattering and fitting on. But when I saw these pictures at first on the camera I was like...ummm no definitely not using the pics of me wearing the vest because I thought I looked like a beach whale. So I took it off for the rest of the pictures but here I am a week after taking these pics and post-turkey and all the fixings eating and I feel much better about these pictures! Ha! So funny how that works, I feel like I've gained 10 pounds since these pictures and then I also realized that it is a puffer vest so they do tend to make you look a little "puffy". The gingham button down was cute and on sale too so threw that in with a $12 plaid scarf (not pictured) so shopping at Bass reminded me to venture out to other brands and stores even though I literally NEVER go store shopping anymore. (I shop online) it's super fun and will always be my favorite hobby to go store shopping. What's also funny is I manage a retail fashion, home and gift store so that would be another reason I don't shop much since most my shopping is done at the store.

I love this fringe scarf from Nordstrom..the brand is B.P. and it was super on sale during the anniversary sale which I am finally getting lots of wears out of my fall shopping during the anniversary sale.

Another thing I haven't worn or talked about in a blog is my LV Neverfull GM. I got this bag back in May and I have enjoyed rotating it between other bags. I feel scared to carry it constantly because I want to preserve it and for it to last as long as possible given how much I paid for it. But I know that it was truly an investment since I would always be able to sell it for good money if I ever wanted to. But I most likely will keep it forever and maybe give it to one of my daughters when it's vintage..lol. It is a heavy bag once you put things in it but it does hold a lot, you could literally use it as an over night bag too. I'm also wearing some lace up flats from Top Shop, they were all the rage on Instagram early fall so I caved...but they were under $50;)

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Fall Transitions

Hey y'all! Today was the first day it felt like fall so I took the opportunity to style this old Forever 21 romper with some fall pieces. I could not find the same one, but of course they have tons of great rompers so I linked another favorite. Still not sure how I feel about rompers on me since I'm so tall, and this one was a little shorter on me than I'd like, especially since I have not been to the gym in awhile;) But it still fit, it's a large..I go with large on most all boutique style clothing. If there were an x-large I would get it because it's more comfortable and flattering to me with a little extra fabric. I wore a few of my Nordstrom anniversary sale buys that are no longer on sale, but I did link them. The felt floppy hat trend continues this year, I think I wore mine once last year but I think I will make an effort to wear it more this season. The light-weight, grey cardigan will be such a layering staple for the fall to transition styles like this. Another trend I caved into is fringe; love these Sam Edelman fringe booties..it's just enough without being over the top. I am trying my best not to fall into too many trendy things and buy more classics that can stay in my closet longer, but I'm such a sucker for those quick trends, sometimes it's just fun. I definitely think there should be a balance though, purchase a couple trends each season but stay consistent with neutrals and basics that you can wear multiple ways. I'm also trying to buy less prints, since I am less apt to wear a printed top multiple times it's good to keep that to a minimum..like this printed romper will be the only printed romper I have until next Spring. See product links below!

Mommy & Me Scarves and Boot Cuffs by The Royal Standard!

Hello everyone! Ok...let me first start by letting you know this post is completely unbiased and my own true opinions. It is in no way sponsored but I do work for The Royal Standard. The Royal Standard is a fashion, home decor and gift retailer based out of Baton Rouge, LA...I manage the Gulf Shores, AL location under the name HRH (Her Royal Highness). I will never forget the first time I actually shopped at HRH I remember being blown away by the array of unique products and gifts at great prices. I remember thinking literally...I don't know how, I don't know when... but someday I am going to work here. Little did I know I would stumble across a hiring ad online some few months after that and here I am living my dream! If you haven't shopped at HRH in Gulf Shores and I know you...you are in trouble! It's time for you to come see me. If you live near Baton Rouge or Lafayette and have never been in a Royal Standard...it's time for you to check it out!

I was so excited to hear we would be receiving scarves and boot cuffs for mommies and little girls. I have two girls, Audrey (4) wearing the matching scarves and boot cuffs here and Evelyn (Evie, 2) so these come at just the right time for me. If you have a little girl, these scarves and boot cuffs are the cutest accessory to match her to for family pictures this fall, football games, shopping and Christmas card pictures! When I showed Audrey she was excited to put everything on and loved wearing them...no fuss, no pulling anything off and I'm pretty sure the boot cuffs were her favorite. The boot cuffs are also super functional for her for those colder winter days which are rare here in the South but she will still enjoy wearing them this fall and winter. Just throw on a solid knit/striped top or chambray button down, denim/leggings and boots...add the scarves and cuffs to elevate your look and all you will need is a pumpkin spice latte in hand and you'll be ready for fall events! I love the subtle grey/cream color of these as they will go with just about anything. Check out the links below and click to shop each scarf and boot cuff...prices range from $11-$15 depending on each style which makes it easy for you to buy the matching set for your little one, or two! And if you live in or visit the Gulf Shores, AL or Baton Rouge, LA areas stop in to shop these styles and more amazing fashion, home decor, and gifts! These also make a great Christmas present for your daughters and grand-daughters.

Happy Shopping!

I love the lace detail on these!

Add a little color to your look with this one, with the cutest tassels!

Colorful Tunic Dress

Hey! This Labor Day weekend we took our girls to Rosemary Beach FL and had an amazing time on their blue beaches, quaint & cute little town, great restaurants and overall beautiful atmosphere. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful with their clean architecture, green grass and well kept grounds. Saturday night we went to a little village (I call it village because it seems like everywhere you turn into a hidden little village.) near The Pearl hotel called SK2 Squared Cafe and enjoyed hamburgers outside street side while a band played and marched up and down the streets. I wore this Free People tunic dress from Nordstrom which is the perfect light weight material for the beach though I did pair it with torn, white jeans since The front on me makes it a tunic and not a dress. I loved the colors in this top and the flow of it. Wore my Jeffrey Campbell wedges which I am discovering are more and more comfortable each time I wear them. Accented the outfit with bright coral Kendra Scott earrings and Tory Burch clutch. The environment was so beautiful it was hard not to stop and take a few pictures for a blog post...so here it is! I strongly recommend anyone to visit Rosemary/Seaside Beach FL if you are looking for a great family getaway in a relaxed environment. There were bike rentals everywhere, we can't wait till the girls learn to bike ride so we can go back and ride bikes everywhere. It was truly a fun little adventure town that we can't wait to go back to.

Black Split Neck Romper

I'm back! I originally planned on trying to post once a week but the last few weeks have been crazy between work, sick kids and then rainy weather which doesn't allow for blog photos so here I am talking about this black romper that is perfect for women especially if you are tall! This is seriously the first romper I've found that works for me. I remember when rompers became all the rage about 7 years ago and I worked at a boutique where most sizes were juniors and I could never wear the rompers because I was so tall it would be like major camel toe lol! Just telling it like it is. So I took a gamble and ordered this online because it looked generously sized on the model so I got a large but could have used a medium for the chest and waist area but I like my clothes a little bigger sometimes as it makes me feel smaller;) I was super excited to wear this and it was very comfortable. I paired it with a white Kendra Scott necklace, Jeffrey Campbell cut out wedges and Tory Burch clutch. I linked everything below:) This romper is definitely a staple piece being black, loose fitting and a classic design that I can wear for several seasons. Check it out!

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!

Casual Sunday

I'm all about a casual outfit on a busy day but as I said before- I'm not a t-shirt person so my casual is usually styled unless I'm in a bad mood and then I throw on a ball cap and call it a day. I usually wear these boyfriend jean shorts (from Target) at the beach but they are super comfortable I wore them today with a slubby v-neck from Top Shop. I went minimal on jewelry and put on an old fedora to elevate the look. This was definitely one of those outfits that I felt better in than I looked. I did laugh at the pictures when I saw them but this blog journey is also about learning to love myself...I have a totally different image of what I look like in my mind depending on what I wear and then I'll see a picture and think.."oh no, that's not what I was going for at all" but I think it's so important to feel confident no matter how the camera portrays you. If you feel great in what you wear, that's all that matters. Working in retail, I always get customers that have a hard time picking out items to purchase (which is totally foreign to me) and they'll ask my opinion and of course I always tell the truth but the bottom line is "do you feel good in it, is it comfortable?". I felt comfortable and chic in this outfit today and that's what's important- despite what the camera says.

The cross body is Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab- I just got a new laptop and am having technical difficulties so I wasn't able to link anything..but this is a pretty basic look that you most likely have in your closet so until next time! Thanks for stopping by!

Rachel

Summer Tassels

When I saw this clutch online at Lord & Taylor it was a no brainer. Everyone knows the tassel trend came back again this summer (I thought it was over a couple summers ago) and I don't mind that it did. This clutch is perfect for a summer night, beach vacation, cruise or if you're like me and you don't really have anywhere to where it so you just get it because you love it! Though my husband and I did go out to dinner alone so I jumped at the opportunity to wear it. It's one of those statement accesories that you can only wear a few times but when you do you really enjoy it and this one is so colorful you can't help but feel happy carrying it. The brand is "Big Buddha" which I am sure you can find at most department stores in your area, I remember when I first discovered this brand years and years ago in Dillards and bought a hand bag that got a lot of use so it's good quality. Unfortunately I just discovered it's sold out so I searched and searched and found one as close as possible below.
