Fall Transitions

Hey y'all! Today was the first day it felt like fall so I took the opportunity to style this old Forever 21 romper with some fall pieces. I could not find the same one, but of course they have tons of great rompers so I linked another favorite. Still not sure how I feel about rompers on me since I'm so tall, and this one was a little shorter on me than I'd like, especially since I have not been to the gym in awhile;) But it still fit, it's a large..I go with large on most all boutique style clothing. If there were an x-large I would get it because it's more comfortable and flattering to me with a little extra fabric. I wore a few of my Nordstrom anniversary sale buys that are no longer on sale, but I did link them. The felt floppy hat trend continues this year, I think I wore mine once last year but I think I will make an effort to wear it more this season. The light-weight, grey cardigan will be such a layering staple for the fall to transition styles like this. Another trend I caved into is fringe; love these Sam Edelman fringe booties..it's just enough without being over the top. I am trying my best not to fall into too many trendy things and buy more classics that can stay in my closet longer, but I'm such a sucker for those quick trends, sometimes it's just fun. I definitely think there should be a balance though, purchase a couple trends each season but stay consistent with neutrals and basics that you can wear multiple ways. I'm also trying to buy less prints, since I am less apt to wear a printed top multiple times it's good to keep that to a minimum..like this printed romper will be the only printed romper I have until next Spring. Mommy & Me Scarves and Boot Cuffs by The Royal Standard!

Hello everyone! Ok...let me first start by letting you know this post is completely unbiased and my own true opinions. It is in no way sponsored but I do work for The Royal Standard. The Royal Standard is a fashion, home decor and gift retailer based out of Baton Rouge, LA...I manage the Gulf Shores, AL location under the name HRH (Her Royal Highness). I will never forget the first time I actually shopped at HRH I remember being blown away by the array of unique products and gifts at great prices. I remember thinking literally...I don't know how, I don't know when... but someday I am going to work here. Little did I know I would stumble across a hiring ad online some few months after that and here I am living my dream! If you haven't shopped at HRH in Gulf Shores and I know you...you are in trouble! It's time for you to come see me. If you live near Baton Rouge or Lafayette and have never been in a Royal Standard...it's time for you to check it out!

I was so excited to hear we would be receiving scarves and boot cuffs for mommies and little girls. I have two girls, Audrey (4) wearing the matching scarves and boot cuffs here and Evelyn (Evie, 2) so these come at just the right time for me. If you have a little girl, these scarves and boot cuffs are the cutest accessory to match her to for family pictures this fall, football games, shopping and Christmas card pictures! When I showed Audrey she was excited to put everything on and loved wearing them...no fuss, no pulling anything off and I'm pretty sure the boot cuffs were her favorite. The boot cuffs are also super functional for her for those colder winter days which are rare here in the South but she will still enjoy wearing them this fall and winter. Just throw on a solid knit/striped top or chambray button down, denim/leggings and boots...add the scarves and cuffs to elevate your look and all you will need is a pumpkin spice latte in hand and you'll be ready for fall events! I love the subtle grey/cream color of these as they will go with just about anything. Check out the links below and click to shop each scarf and boot cuff...prices range from $11-$15 depending on each style which makes it easy for you to buy the matching set for your little one, or two! And if you live in or visit the Gulf Shores, AL or Baton Rouge, LA areas stop in to shop these styles and more amazing fashion, home decor, and gifts! These also make a great Christmas present for your daughters and grand-daughters.

Happy Shopping!

I love the lace detail on these!

Add a little color to your look with this one, with the cutest tassels!

Colorful Tunic Dress

Hey! This Labor Day weekend we took our girls to Rosemary Beach FL and had an amazing time on their blue beaches, quaint & cute little town, great restaurants and overall beautiful atmosphere. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful with their clean architecture, green grass and well kept grounds. Saturday night we went to a little village (I call it village because it seems like everywhere you turn into a hidden little village.) near The Pearl hotel called SK2 Squared Cafe and enjoyed hamburgers outside street side while a band played and marched up and down the streets. I wore this Free People tunic dress from Nordstrom which is the perfect light weight material for the beach though I did pair it with torn, white jeans since The front on me makes it a tunic and not a dress. I loved the colors in this top and the flow of it. Wore my Jeffrey Campbell wedges which I am discovering are more and more comfortable each time I wear them. Accented the outfit with bright coral Kendra Scott earrings and Tory Burch clutch. The environment was so beautiful it was hard not to stop and take a few pictures for a blog post...so here it is! I strongly recommend anyone to visit Rosemary/Seaside Beach FL if you are looking for a great family getaway in a relaxed environment. There were bike rentals everywhere, we can't wait till the girls learn to bike ride so we can go back and ride bikes everywhere. It was truly a fun little adventure town that we can't wait to go back to.

XOXO,
Rachel
