Casual Sunday

I'm all about a casual outfit on a busy day but as I said before- I'm not a t-shirt person so my casual is usually styled unless I'm in a bad mood and then I throw on a ball cap and call it a day. I usually wear these boyfriend jean shorts (from Target) at the beach but they are super comfortable I wore them today with a slubby v-neck from Top Shop. I went minimal on jewelry and put on an old fedora to elevate the look. This was definitely one of those outfits that I felt better in than I looked. I did laugh at the pictures when I saw them but this blog journey is also about learning to love myself...I have a totally different image of what I look like in my mind depending on what I wear and then I'll see a picture and think.."oh no, that's not what I was going for at all" but I think it's so important to feel confident no matter how the camera portrays you. If you feel great in what you wear, that's all that matters. Working in retail, I always get customers that have a hard time picking out items to purchase (which is totally foreign to me) and they'll ask my opinion and of course I always tell the truth but the bottom line is "do you feel good in it, is it comfortable?". I felt comfortable and chic in this outfit today and that's what's important- despite what the camera says.

The cross body is Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mab- I just got a new laptop and am having technical difficulties so I wasn't able to link anything..but this is a pretty basic look that you most likely have in your closet so until next time! Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Tassels

When I saw this clutch online at Lord & Taylor it was a no brainer. Everyone knows the tassel trend came back again this summer (I thought it was over a couple summers ago) and I don't mind that it did. This clutch is perfect for a summer night, beach vacation, cruise or if you're like me and you don't really have anywhere to where it so you just get it because you love it! Though my husband and I did go out to dinner alone so I jumped at the opportunity to wear it. It's one of those statement accesories that you can only wear a few times but when you do you really enjoy it and this one is so colorful you can't help but feel happy carrying it. The brand is "Big Buddha" which I am sure you can find at most department stores in your area, I remember when I first discovered this brand years and years ago in Dillards and bought a hand bag that got a lot of use so it's good quality. Unfortunately I just discovered it's sold out so I searched and searched and found one as close as possible below.

Happy 4th Ya'll!

This is the most simple/comfortable type of outfit I would ever wear. I'm all about comfort and style when it comes to outdoor events in the summer that involve chasing toddlers so I scored big with this $13.00 outfit from Old Navy. I've been on an ON kick lately which is funny considering how unpleasant it is to shop my local store. The linen shorts were only $8 and the vintage tee was $4. I love their vintage tees, they're super comfy and good quality. I have a couple of older ones that have turned into sleep shirts but they do last. I cannot wear t-shirts, you know, normal t-shirts that most people wear on the daily. Something about them make me look big and I don't feel my best in them. That can seem strange to a lot of people where I'm from but when it comes to "casual" this is as close as it gets for me. I wish I could look cute in a T-shirt but it's not happening so kudos to all the women who can effortlessly look great in a T-shirt and Nike shorts. So if you're like me, one of my favorite places to get "tees" is Old Navy. I'll be on the hunt for better ones and let y'all know when I do;) Thanks for stopping by and Happy 4th!!!

Linen Shift Dress

Hi all! I thought this Old Navy dress would be fitting with the 4th of July coming up this Saturday, it's also on sale and is super comfy! It could be worn as a cover up or a casual dress for a date or shopping. It's a linen blend and does run a little big as I could have sized down but I like things a little looser fit than tight. Another plus is it has pockets! Doesn't everyone love dresses with pockets?! Not that I would use them but they're adorable on this shift dress. I also am wearing these Kendra Scott  earrings for the first time and love the color...I usually don't buy more expensive fashion jewelry in bright colors because I like to get neutrals that will go with everything that I could wear more often but I splurged on these and glad I did because I think I will wear them more than I thought especially this summer.

I put my Louis away for a rest and have been enjoying this vegan leather tote from Nordstrom that is  reversible to a mint color and also comes in other colors! It also has a wristlet attached to the inside which makes it more functional.

Thanks for visiting, and have a safe 4th of July! Thank you to all who serve/have served to protect us!
